Jennie is an eccentric opera singer who is devoted to the advancement of literary ideals in a decreasingly literate society. While optimistically naive, she enjoys the trials and tribulations of everyday life; unless of course she's fallen on the sidewalk in front of Barnes and Noble.

V-day or D-day?

Being a somewhat, make that rather, sarcastic person, I can understand peoples "peeves" about v-day commercialism. However, why is everyone so hostile about it?? Just because it's increasingly commercialized doesn't mean you can't still enjoy it. And while yes, you should let your loved ones know EVERYDAY that you love them and they're appreciated, there's no reason why you can't have a special day to celebrate that love. Why is having a day to appreciate it such a bad thing? It's not! I don't buy into the whole "you must buy me flowers and chocolates" routine, but it certainly is a nice gesture. It does not, however, make up for being a crappy friend or significant other all year...but if you are appreciative all the time, it's like finding out the jeans you were going to buy anyway were on clearance and not marked at the register. EXTRA WIN!
