I mean honestly, what was I supposed to think when I didn't hear ANYTHING for two weeks, that we were together and better than ever?? I'm a reasonable gal, if you had said, hey I need some time/space two weeks ago and then disappeared, FINE. But if you disappear and don't tell me ANYTHING...Game over. Since when is communication, even on the elementary level, such a huge thing to ask? Where are the attractive, literate, grammatically competent, men who are able to talk and discuss things in life?? I wish one would find me, or for that matter club me on the head and take me to dinner. The single gals life is a dangerous one.
Things you should probably know about the author of this blog:
- wonderwoman24k
- Chicago, il, United States
- Jennie is an eccentric opera singer who is devoted to the advancement of literary ideals in a decreasingly literate society. While optimistically naive, she enjoys the trials and tribulations of everyday life; unless of course she's fallen on the sidewalk in front of Barnes and Noble.

Update...D-Day...
sooo....I was all optimistic last time we talked about Valentine's day...clearly that was before I was dumped on valentines day...not with words...or text..or even a post it...by being totally ignored and blown off...so yes, I suppose you could say I'm a little more pessimistic now. Who does that? Who dates someone for TWO months then just disappears without even enough respect to say "hey kid, it's been fun but I gotta jet..." Just to be disrespectful enough to not say anything...WHAT!!??!! Seriously guys, if you didn't have more respect for me than that to begin with, WHY WERE YOU DATING ME IN THE FIRST PLACE?? So I move on, I don't hear anything for over two weeks...and then I get this long...rambling, very grammatically incorrect FB message that really doesn't make much sense or tell me anything...I'm sorry buddy...but after TWO weeks of nothing I've morned your loss and started to move on..

V-day or D-day?
Being a somewhat, make that rather, sarcastic person, I can understand peoples "peeves" about v-day commercialism. However, why is everyone so hostile about it?? Just because it's increasingly commercialized doesn't mean you can't still enjoy it. And while yes, you should let your loved ones know EVERYDAY that you love them and they're appreciated, there's no reason why you can't have a special day to celebrate that love. Why is having a day to appreciate it such a bad thing? It's not! I don't buy into the whole "you must buy me flowers and chocolates" routine, but it certainly is a nice gesture. It does not, however, make up for being a crappy friend or significant other all year...but if you are appreciative all the time, it's like finding out the jeans you were going to buy anyway were on clearance and not marked at the register. EXTRA WIN!

Does it all even matter?
a famous philosophical saying says "It only matters if it matters" but is that true? Who decides what matters? Moreover, if it matters to me, does that automatically make it matter to other people who care about me too or are their matters separate? I've been doing a lot of thinking lately of what really matters in life, and a lot of things I thought mattered I guess really don't anymore. What are you supposed to do with your discarded matter? What happens to the things you used to care about in your life, where do they go? Do they just fall to the wayside and collect dust with other peoples discarded matters....?
What should matter in life? Should the things that we decide matter be weighted by importance, and if so, how is their importance to be weighted? How you decide who/what stays and what goes? Some of these things that used to be so important surely have strong feelings associated with them, how do you just cut them out and get rid of them?

The Good, The Bad, and the Scrunchie-wearing Ballerinas.
Who decided scrunchies were a good idea?
I find them offensive, especially when they adorn 11 year old ballerina heads. PLEASE LEAVE my building now!!
Thoughts and opinions...?

Summer Time Blues....Not Just a Festival in the Park.
Dear Reader,
As this is my virgin post I thought I'd discuss the notion of summer time blues. Currently, I'm rather blue, and not just due to the blues festival in Grant Park...
When the going gets tough do the tough really get going?
I'm pretty tough, but often times I find myself shirking my to do list, captive in an alternate world of responsibility-less bliss. Why does it seem so much easier to just hide under the covers than get started? And once you've finally convinced yourself to get started, where is it you're supposed to start? I suppose it's easier to start around the edges and hedge your way into the whole big mess, but really, it just seems daunting.
As a last ditch effort to get things together before I leave for a trip home, I'm just gonna jump in all the way and get through this damn list....here is the truth, as I from this day forward promise to tell, there is no easy way out.
My pep talk: "Just get dirty, get down in the middle of it and duke it out, you'll feel better when you're through."
Somehow this isn't really making me feel much better about getting anything accomplished.....
