Dear Reader,As this is my virgin post I thought I'd discuss the notion of summer time blues. Currently, I'm rather blue, and not just due to the blues festival in Grant Park...
When the going gets tough do the tough really get going?
I'm pretty tough, but often times I find myself shirking my to do list, captive in an alternate world of responsibility-less bliss. Why does it seem so much easier to just hide under the covers than get started? And once you've finally convinced yourself to get started, where is it you're supposed to start? I suppose it's easier to start around the edges and hedge your way into the whole big mess, but really, it just seems daunting.
As a last ditch effort to get things together before I leave for a trip home, I'm just gonna jump in all the way and get through this damn list....here is the truth, as I from this day forward promise to tell, there is no easy way out.
My pep talk: "Just get dirty, get down in the middle of it and duke it out, you'll feel better when you're through."
Somehow this isn't really making me feel much better about getting anything accomplished.....
